Saltwater Yoga was created to bring that same feeling of excitement, release, and calmness that the ocean water brings. While at the beach, we tend to be completely present. Watching the waves, soaking in the sunlight, enjoying each breeze that touches our skin. In the water, we are completely in tune with our breath and naturally move with intention. It is our mission to bring that same awareness, being in tune and at peace with the present moment.
Saltwater Yoga was founded by Cassandra Farnan in 2019. She is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with prenatal, restorative, and yin certifications. On the first day of yoga teacher training, students were asked “what is one thing you cannot live without.” Cassandra’s answer was simple and clear: water. Whether it is hours in the ocean, a bath at the end of a long day, or the jug of water she is always carrying, water is her vital consistent. Cassandra began her yoga journey in 2010 when she took yoga as an elective course in architecture school. It quickly became the only hour of the week where her studies and stresses were left at the door. The same calmness she felt at the beach, was found on the mat. Fast forward 9 years and Cassandra is living her dream after moving to Cape May with her husband, Paul. Through her studies, she has found how the built environment impacts people differently. Through yoga, Cassandra aims to guide people in finding their own comfort, in any environment.
